Sphere of the Lycanthrope –1st Horror Film to Win Back-to-Back Film Festival Awards in 2009

By winning the Tulsa Script -2- Screen Film Festival’s Best Horror Sci-Fi Fantasy Feature of 2009, “The Sphere of The Lycanthrope,” has become the first horror film of 2009 to win multiple Best Picture Awards.  The film also won the best Horror Feature Film award at the Action on Film International Film Festival in Pasadena CA, in August of this year.

The Sphere of the Lycanthrope was also nominated for two other AOF awards: Best Special Effects, and Best Costume Design, as well as a Best Actor nomination at the Script -2- Screen Film Festival for the film’s writer/producer/director/star:  David Stay.

The Script -2- Screen Film Festival held this year on the campus of Tulsa Community College, in Tulsa Oklahoma, ran from October 1 through October 4, 2009 and featured over twenty feature films from independent filmmakers from all over the country. When reached for comment, Stay said: “After all the blood, sweat and tears, literally, I could not be happier with the overwhelming acceptance, acknowledgment and of course back to back coveted awards. Then being nominated for a Best Actor award really sent me over the top. I can’t thank everyone, and I mean hundreds for their support and the stand they took for me and making all this happen, specifically Keith Grening, my Director of Photography, Ford Austin one of my Executive Producers, Jason Peri my Editor, Matt Chassin, my family, hey the list goes on. You know who you are. My days are now consumed writing the sequel which will kick your ass harder then the Lycanthrope with a whole new Sphere. Finally, New York, my true home, keep your fingers crossed that The SOTL will be showing at the NYC Horror Fest in November. Rock on!”
